The SEACRAFT Mad Mouse Offshore Fishing Team
For about eight years, team Mad Mouse has been a force to be reckoned with in the world of offshore fishing. Led by USCG-certified Captain Rob Ferris, this saltwater fishing team also includes Sam Locklear, David Sharron and Monica Ferris. They fish from a SEACRAFT SC32 Master Angler boat with custom “Mad Mouse” graphics and can be found on the Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) Trail, Mercury® Tournament Trail and Yamaha® Professional Kingfish Tour.
The SKA tournament trail was formed in 1991, and now includes over 50 events in numerous locations, including the Mercury® Tournament Trail and Yamaha® Professional Kingfish Tour. It is sport fishing’s largest saltwater tournament trail. More than three million dollars in prize money are up for grabs.
As well as winning numerous awards and rankings in many tournaments over the years, the offshore anglers in team Mad Mouse have also qualified for the SKA Nationals four years in a row, from 2004 through 2007. The team even made appearances on the outdoor channel TV show “Fishing the Trail.”

Captain Rob Ferris
Team Captain Home Port: Southport, N.C. Rob is a certified USCG Captain with over 25 years of offshore tournament fishing experience. He lives in North Carolina, where he began his saltwater tournament career at 13. By age 16, Rob had won the prestigious U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament. With a continued drive and determination, he has stacked up a very impressive list of tournament finishes. |

Sam Locklear Co-Captain/Angler Home Port: Oak Island, N.C. Sam lives in North Carolina and has been part of the team since 2006. His fishing knowledge propelled him to the top of the leader boards of the National Striped Bass Association’s “striper trail” during the 2000-2004 seasons. Sam brings the same determination to the saltwater tournament trails the Mad Mouse team fishes today. |

David Sharron Team Engineer/Angler Home Port: Oak Island, N.C. David lives in North Carolina and joined the team in 2005. He brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the team. David’s ability to keep the boat and equipment in top working condition keeps the Mad Mouse team competitive and on the leader board. |

Monica Ferris
Lady Angler Home Port: Southport, N.C. Monica is a student at UNC in Charlotte, N.C. Monica was the Top Lady Angler in the 2006 Key West Professional Kingfish Tour Event. She is a fierce competitor, so don’t let the smile fool you. Her competitive spirit is always present. |
